Korean Dinner Party
Share
Thinking of hosting a Korean themed dinner party well first you will need to get dressed in hanbok’s (joking) but if you don’t know what I am talking about it’s our national dress.
If my wife permits, I can show you a photo of our wedding in Seoul where we both wore the traditional dress. We still get a good belly laugh looking through our album.
So back to the food how about keeping it traditional and start with a kick arse entrée of YOOK HWE, this is a steak tartare, and it is tasty but if you think your guests won’t go for that why not try mini kimchi pajans as well. This will also cover if you do have a vegetarian in your group.
For the main I think a tasty jungol would be awesome for you guests to try. It is a Korean Hot Pot… a social and fun way to eat dinner with friends and family. When eating Korean it is all about sharing.
But I strongly suggest drinking makgeolli a fermented rice wine. It’s cool as it’s poured from something similar looking to a tea pot and into bowls the size of small rice dishes.
GUNBAE… - cheers mate.
You could offer dessert but maybe just grab some red bean buns from a local Asian grocery shop as by now you won’t feel like too much more food.
